Week 37: Almost Home

November 03, 20253 min read

You’ve made it, mama! Full-term is in sight. This week marks a powerful threshold where waiting and preparation meet. Your heart may be racing with anticipation, but take comfort in knowing: God’s timing is never rushed or delayed. Every moment from here on is a divine invitation to trust Him more deeply.

Your Baby This Week

Your baby is so close to being ready for the world. Although doctors consider babies “full term” at 39 weeks, your little one is already practicing new skills like breathing, sucking, gripping, and blinking. Their brain and lungs are still maturing, but every movement and hiccup you feel is evidence of God’s perfect design at work.

At this stage, your baby is gaining about half an ounce a day and settling into their final birth position. The finish line is near, and soon, you’ll see the face you’ve been praying for.

“Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” — Matthew 17:20

Your Body This Week

Your body is in its final preparation phase. You may notice more frequent Braxton Hicks contractions, pelvic pressure, and increased energy or nesting urges. Each sensation, though sometimes uncomfortable, is purposeful. God is using these last weeks to ready your body for the incredible work of labor.

Prayer for the Week

God, thank You for bringing me so close to meeting my baby. It’s amazing to think of how far You’ve carried us. As the big day approaches, please steady my heart and calm my thoughts. Keep me and my baby healthy, strong, and at peace in Your timing. Help me to trust You completely, even when I feel anxious or uncertain. Thank You for everything You’ve given me.
Amen.

Gentle Encouragement

When the waiting feels long, remember: you’re not just counting down to your due date, you’re counting down to a moment heaven has already seen. Keep your faith anchored in His promises, mama. The same God who began this miracle will be faithful to complete it.
